Navy elements attacked in Acapulco

Elements from Mexico’s Navy  (Secretaría de Marina-Armada) force faced off with a group of armed individuals who were hiding in the inside of a house in the housing estate of Costa Azul, in the port of Acapulco. The shootout happened around five in the morning and ended  around an hour later on the corner of Gabriel Carballo Street and James Cook Street near Colegio Nautilus. According to ElDiario Nacional, a nearby fire station was contacted with an emergency call for help informing the station that there was a fire in that same house; once the firefighters arrived however, Marine forces denied them access. Two people have been detained and five vehicles confiscated. The vehicles include a Jeep Compass, an Escape, a Ford Edge, a Jetta and an Accord. According to El Universal six AK-47 guns were also confiscated.
