nytimes

The Mexican marijuana trade is still going strong.  The drug cartels have adapted and have begun using new tactics to challenge heightened security along the border region, such as planting marijuana plants on US soil to avoid the border altogether.  Cartels have also begun to use ramps to maneuver more easily over border security fences and are increasing their relationship with prison/street gangs to increase productivity.
