Visits to detention facilities in the state of Tamaulipas have been suspended. In order to avoid a swine flu outbreak they need to take certain security measures, the secretary of public security, Héctor Walle, said. An outbreak of swine flu within the eight detention facilities could possibly infect 7,500 inmates because of their close contact. This security measure is also being extended to juvenile detention facilities in the state. There is no tentative date to resume visits, it depends on the course of the swine flu and if it becomes more of a problem in the future.
