Eight killed in a bar in Ciudad Juarez

In the early hours of Wednesday an armed commando killed eight men-amongst them were two minors-while opening fire in a “Bar Aristos” in Ciudad Juarez. According to AFP the gunmen separated the victims before killing them. At least thirty people were in the bar, located at the intersection of Honduras Street and Vicente Guerrera Street, at the time of the attack. Another twelve people were killed between Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Three of them were killed in a parking lot of a commercial center, while another was killed in the state capital.

According to the Diario de Yucatán another four, between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, were killed by an armed group while in a compact car that was outside an auto-service store.  Family members of the victims identified them as twenty-year-old Manuel Torres; twenty-one year-old Cristian. The other two were identified by the nicknames “El panzón” y “El duva.” One of them was a student at the Universidad Autónoma of Ciudad Juarez.

In a separate incident another three men, yet to be identified, who traveled in an automobile were killed in front of an elementary school and a kids garden in the neighborhood of Bellavista. According to the Diario de Yucatán, at the time of the attack dozens of kids were coming out of both places causing panic amongst the parents.

According to the State Attorney General’s office (Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado) a total of twenty people were killed Wednesday in Ciudad Juarez. Authorities have yet to figure out the identities of the eight bar victims.
