Eight killed in Guerrero, five in a soccer field

The state Secretariat of Public Security of Guerrero (Secretaría de Seguridad Pública estatal) reported the killing of five people while playing soccer in the town of Xaltianguis, in the municiplaity of Acapulco.

A group of armed individuals traveling in three trucks without license plates fired at the five individuals who were playing in a Lagunilla soccer field, killing them in the early hours this morning. Amongst those who were killed are Uriostegui Pineda and Jesús Almazán Uriostegui. According to La Jornada the names of the other three individuals remain unknown because family members picked up their bodies and did not allow any intervention from authorities.

The Secretariat of Public Security also reported finding a body on a road leading to the community of Iglesias Viejas, part of the municipality of Apaxtla de Castrejon, the northern zone of the state. According to El Universal the acts occurred yesterday at 14:00 hours. The body had various bullet impacts. A Nissan truck was  found on a ravine nearby with license plates from the Federal District.

On a dirt road leading out of the municipality of Tetipac and toward the community of San Andrés, at the height of a landfill, a Ford Explore vehicle was found abandoned and in it was the dead body of forty-five year old Abel Uribe Landa.  His hands were tied behind his body and he was gagged.

In Acapulco, the body of Gilberto Rodríguez Ávila was also found with two bullet impacts in different parts of his body. He was found in the town of Ex Campo de Tiro around 22:44 hours, yesterday.
