HILLARY CLINTON VOICES U.S. SUPPORT

01/24/2011– Hillary Clinton visited Guanajauto, Mexico with aims to reiterate the United State’s support for both Mexico and the government’s actions in the Drug War. She refused to take questions concerning information leaked through WikiLeaks which included commentary from American diplomats in Mexico who stated there is a “less than complete dedication to the law,” as well as  information where a Mexican official insinuated that “some territory was falling under the control of organized crime groups.”

Instead she focused on creating optimism within the country, by talking about the good steps the government of Mexico has taken in dismantling major organized crime groups and how the government of the United States has been in full support. Clinton does acknowledge the role that the United States has played in the supply of drugs and money to the Mexico’s gangs and agreed that it is a transnational issue.
