Three police officers in Nuevo Leon were attacked; one injured, one dead

While on patrol, a police officer in Allende, Nuevo Leon was gunned down by unknown shooters. Two other police officers were also attacked and injured in the municipality of San Pedro Garza García.

Juan María Peña Castro, 21, was shot and killed while on patrol around 4:00am local time. Evidence indicates that AR-15 rifles were used in the execution. Juan Castro had been working on the police force for six months prior to his death. A few minutes later a second police officer in San Pedro Garza García was attacked but managed to escape.

The third confrontation occurred a few hours later where officer José Luis Roman Sandoval, 26, was shot in the abdomen. He was transported to the nearest hospital to be treated for his wounds.
