Seven bodies were found in a grave pit in Mazatlán

08/04/10 – An anonymous tip led local police to investigate a ranch located in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. There, investigators found seven decomposing bodies in three different grave pits. The bodies had signs of torture and appeared to have been shot in the head. There was one woman found among the seven bodies.

Investigators are surveying the surrounding area for more bodies that may have been buried. It is presumed that a local criminal group is responsible for the grave pit as well as other violent acts throughout the city.

A similar grave pit was found in Nuevo León in July where over 50 bodies were found.
