Justice in Mexico

Obama visit a success

Although some were opposed to Obama’s visit, the PAN feel that it was a success.  The projects proposed between Mexico and the United States to deal with organized crime and undocumented immigrants are a sign of good faith from their neighbor to the north, the national ombudsman, José Luis Soberanes, stated.  “for a while now our neighbors in the north have given us role of doing all of the dirty work.  On one side comes a ‘blow to the head’ and on the other we are rewarded with ‘carrots,'” Soberanes commented.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador classified this alliance as a ‘grave error,’ because migration and security are not political problems.  He claims that the root cause comes from the poverty, unemployment, and lack of opportunities within Mexico.  That is where the major focus of change should lie.
