“Narco-roadblocks” set up throughout Monterrey in the early morning

08/06/10 – Roadblocks put up by organized crime groups disrupted commuters in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Hijacked trailers and cars were parked across busy highways.  At least twenty national and international flights were delayed for a few hours due to roads leading to the international airport of Monterrey being blocked off.

The municipalities of San Nicolás and Apodaca were also targeted in the simultaneous set up of roadblocks. Military personnel managed to clear the roads almost four hours after the they first were obstructed. There were no more reports as to whom set up the roadblocks and why.
