Mormon leader killed in Chihuahua

An armed commando “lifted” and executed Benjamin Le Baron, an activist against kidnapping, in the municipality of Galeana, Chihuahua, reported the Attorney General of the entity.
His remains were thrown on to dirt roads connecting the municipality of Galeana, with the toll road that connects the community Flores Magon.

The assailants left a message on the body signed by “The General” which read: “This is for the 25 young raised in Nicolás Bravo,” referring to the operation in which military forces managed to detain the armed men who are attributed to kidnappings and extortion in the area of the entity.

At about 1:15 in the morning, local time, masked men entered the home of themovement leader who worked against kidnappings in the so-called “Corridor of Terror”, in the northwest of the Chihuahua.

Benjamin Le Baron was one of the leaders of the Mormon Church in the town of Galeana. Following the kidnapping of his brother, Erick, he began a movement to demand his release. After seven days of kidnapping, the boy was freed by state authorities.

The State’s Attorney, in cooperation with the Joint Operational Chihuahua, which integrates elements of the Army, commenced a search operation for the murderers.
