A total of 27 officials and former public servants from Michoacan, including seven Mayors accused of being involved with the criminal organization “La Familia” have now been transferred to a federal prison in El Rincón, in Nayarit.
Among those present: a former adviser to the government of Leonel Godoy and former Secretary of State for Public Security, Citlalli Fernandez, former Attorney, Miguel Garcia Hurtado and former director of the Institute of Police Training, Mario Bautista Ramírez.
Michoacan officials were guarded by at least a hundred elements of the Federal Police during the transfer.
