08/17/10 – A detained member of La Linea, the armed wing of the Ciudad Juárez cartel, informed interrogators of a new method being used to eliminate rival cartel members: using the looks of “beautiful” women to lure and kill them. The crime group has started to recruit attractive women and train them to kill their enemies in almost the same manner that regular assassins would.
The detainee, Rogelio Amaya, was arrested last week along with three other members; they are reported to have killed two police officers as well as participating in other illegal activities.
Amaya told investigators that most women hired are between the ages of 18 and 30; there are currently around 25 women employed and carrying out orders alongside male companions. They travel with and can manipulate light and heavy of weapons.
