Killings 26% down in first quarter

According to CNN, killings due to the drug wars in Mexico have dropped 26 percent in the first three months of 2009, in comparison to the last three months of 2008.  Homicides fell from 2,644 to 1,960, Monte Alejandro Rubido told reporters.  Rubido, the technical secretary of the National Council of Public Security, credits the governments strategy and the arrest of important leaders in the cartels in the reduction of homicides.
