Kidnapped victims were liberated without a confrontation

08/02/10 – The Group of Immediate Reaction (Grupo de Reacción Immediata) rescued four kidnapped victims from a house in the colony Sierra Ventana in Monterrey, Nuevo León. All four men showed signs of having been tortured and mistreated. A woman in charge of guarding the men was arrested when agents raided the house.

The operation took place at around 2:00am local time early Monday morning when an anonymous tip led police to the house in question. State, federal, and military agents collaborated in surrounding the home with carefulness to avoid a confrontation with the captors.

Just minutes after being rescued, the four victims were transported to the nearest hospital to be treated for their injuries which included fractures.
