Journalist dies in confrontation between federal agents and armed group

11/05/10 – Carlos Alberto Guajardo Romero, a Mexican journalist for the Expreso de Matamoros daily, died during a confrontation between federal agents and an armed commando in the municipal of Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Romero was covering the confrontation in order to gather information for his daily when he was caught in the crossfire and killed, becoming the 66th journalist to be killed in México since 2000.

  1. seems to be a bit of a dumb move to be in a pick up truck chasing after the cartel bad guy´s suv´s and in front of the mexican marines. he was in a lose / lose situation and probably didn´t even know it.
