The ex-director of the Municipal Police (Policía Municipal) in Zapoltiltic, Jalisco, was executed late Thursday night. An anonymous tip led the local police of the municipal Gómez Farías to investigate a reported shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, Marcelo Gamaliel Sedo Carreto, 44, was found dead with at least three bullet wounds.
Marcelo Carreto was the director for only a short period of time before being de-ranked due to poor behavior in his position. A few months ago he was discharged after it was discovered that he was in possession of a small weapons cache. There were have been no arrests made in regards to his murder.
