Two police chiefs shot to death in Jalisco

The police chief of El Salto, Jalisco, Ricardo Fierros Gómez, was executed in the central part of the municipal this morning. He was leaving his house and on his way to work, in order to begin his shift, when a heavily armed group shot him to death while he was getting into his car. According to Milenio, during the investigation that took place after the attack some of his fellow police officers said that his coworkers did very little to help him. The attack occurred around seven in the morning on José María Morelos Street at the intersection with Ramón Corona.  The homicide division of the Attorney General’s Office (Procuraduría General de Justicia – PGJ) has taken charge of the case.

Around ten this morning another police commander for the municipal police force and an element from the local Civil Protection unit in Tecalitlán, Jalisco, were ambushed. The police commander died. The aggressors escaped in an Explorer and a truck.
