Eduardo Saúl Duque Vázquez, known as “El comandante Duque,” was arrested Tuesday in the city of El Mirador, in the south of Monterrey. An ex-member of the police force in Monterrey, Vázquez used to be part of the GER, where he detained persons involved in the arms trade. Authorities believe Vázquez was a paid assassin for the GORY-4, Osiel Cardenas’ criminal organization, and believe he is responsible for a couple of the assassinations on military officials in the Quintana Roo region.
