The Archbishop of Acapulco, Felipe Aguirre Franco,  reported that a priest and two seminarians were shot in the Tierra Caliente region. The men were shot while traveling in a car in route to a parish function.

In a press conference Archbishp Franso stated that he considered the presence of the Mexican military on the streets essential in the fight against drug trafficking cartels.
