The Section of International Law’s and its Mexico Committee will host a conversation February 6, 2016 between US-Mexican jurists seasoned in rule of law work and the role of international law in domestic courts. Judge Margaret McKeown of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit serves as Chair of the ABA Rule of Law Initiative Board. Magistrado Manuel González Oropeza serves as a member of the Sala Superior of Mexico’s Federal Electoral Court, as well as a member of the Council of Europe’s Venice Commission, assisting countries that seek advice to bring their legal and institutional structures into line with international experience in the fields of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
