El Sur newspaper installation attacked in Acapulco

11/10/10 – According to the Acapulco Public Security (Seguridad Pública), an armed group attacked the El Sur newspaper installations and sprayed the offices with gasoline. The attack occurred at 22:25 hours today at the El Sur installation located in between Diego Hurtado de Mendoza and Capitán Malaespina Street. Witnesses reported at least two vehicles that seemed to be waiting for someone. After the individuals in the vehicle shot at the building, several of the men proceeded to enter the building. By then, one of the employees had run into the building to tell his co-workers he had been followed in and that they needed to hide. Fourteen employees were in the building at the time of the attack but none of them were reported injured. Bullet casings from an AK-47 and a 9mm gun were found at the scene.
