09/08/10 – An armed group killed the mayor of El Naranjo, San Luis Potosí, this Wednesday afternoon. Early reports state that the gunmen arrived at the mayor’s office around 2:00pm local time and shot Alexander López García as he sat at his desk.
At least three gunmen entered the building meanwhile two others stood outside and shot at the exterior of the building. The three individuals that went inside interrupted a meeting between staff and the mayor. It was reported that the gunmen forced the staff to one side of the room and ordered the mayor to stay at his desk as they executed him.
Given that the event took place in the last few hours and information is scarce at the time of this posting more will be added in the coming day.
