Drug Dealers Caught In Nuevo Leon

02/04/11 – According to a press release made by the Secretariat of Public Security (Secretaría de Seguridad Pública) yesterday on February 3, federal police caught two drug dealers who were operating from Nuevo León.  The men have been identified as Rafael Martinez Nájera, known as “El Oso,” and Juan Dimas Hernández, who goes by “El Mula.”  They were found in possession of large amounts of cocaine in brick and powder form, as well as a variety of guns and cartridges.

While on patrol, police officers came across a suspicious looking vehicle filled with people that seemed to be making some sort of exchange.  As soon as the people inside of the car became aware of the police nearby, they immediately tried to flee.  Officers caught the men and found that they each carried a gun at their waists.  Police officers began to search inside the vehicle, where they found a suitcase full of small plastic bags that appeared to be filled with powdered cocaine, along with a sub machine gun.  A full search of the car revealed that there were 2,550 bricks of cocaine, 500 wrappings filled with powdered cocaine, a 9 mm submachine gun, a .45 caliber gun, a .357 caliber revolver, 2 chargers, 52 cartridges of different calibers, a bag containing more that 1 kilogram of marijuana, and multiple radios and cell phones.  The “Agente del Ministerio Público de la Federación” (deputy Agent of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office) will continue the investigation.
