We are a small NGO based in Scotland and are currently looking for partners across the world to participate in our school-based violence and abuse prevention research. Our abuse prevention programme is called Violence Is Preventable (V.I.P.) and it is a wide spectrum approach to violence and abuse prevention, which is primarily used within schools. Research carried out by the University Of Dundee found the V.I.P. programme to be very effective at primary prevention and the only programme of its kind anywhere in the world to be significantly effective at secondary prevention – meaning children tell about abuse!
We are currently looking for NGO partners to help roll out our V.I.P. programme. We intend to begin in 3 different developing countries and, with the assistance of community groups, schools and local NGO’s hope to replicate the V.I.P. programme, translate and adapt it for local use, train local people to deliver it effectively and carry out robust cross-cultural research on the process, its transferability and effectiveness.
We will provide all training and resources and in return we hope partners would adapt and translate the resources and participate in the research.
