The Justice in Mexico Project of the Trans-Border Institute (TBI) at the University of San Diego, released the April 2012 Monthly News Report. This reports are based on regular monitoring of international, national, and sub-national developments affecting the rule of law Mexico.
The highlights of this month’s report are:
- Ejecuciones remain lower than in 2011, nongovernmental and social organizations continue to emphasize human costs
- 13 taxi cab drivers killed in Guerrero and Nuevo León
- Former CFE official arrested for second time on corruption charges
- New York Times reveals corruption and cover-up involving Wal-Mart de México
- “Our Future Mexico” demands change from presidential candidates
- Mexican Senate committees approve judicial reform to try soldiers in civilian courts
